skillet4u Store Antique 1850s Victorian Meriden Silver Teapot, Urn We purchased this wonderful old coffee or tea pot at an estate sale here in Knoxville, TN. It is marked Meriden Company on the bottom along with the number 1932...that is not a date but some sort of manufacturers number. I am guessing the teapot is from the mid to late 1800s and has some initials FPL hand engraved on the bottom. It could use replating but the only damage is a small dent in the middle on one side and the finial on the lid is slighty bent. 14" high to the top of the finial and about 9 1/2" wide. Lots of engraving or hand etching around the sides with birds on the spout and bird wings on the feet. Inside is in very good condition and the silver is still shiny. Sold in as found condition so a little cleaning or polishing may help it out a lot but that is a job/decision for the lucky high bidder.Questions? Please email us. Thanks.
