Item: Beaded needlepoint screen panel Color/Material: multi color beads, wool yarn Age: 19th century Size: approx. 16" x 17" Condition: very good Please review payment & shipping policies before bidding. Details: This beautiful Victorian beaded needlework was never used. It was likely intended for a face screen. The needlepoint is tightly and evenly done. The cat, teapot, borders and bird cage are completely beaded. The beading adds a pretty sparkle to the work. This wonderful cat is trying to get at the canary in it's cage. Such a charming and uncommon motif. At some point someone very carefully cut artist board to mount the needlework for framing. It's attached to the board with masking tape. The tape only touches the empty border of the work. The needlework is in excellent condition. There are only about 3 to 4 beads missing over the entire piece. Very charming!
