This is an incredible find! 2012 -- Our 15th year on Ebay!! (It's going to be a great year!) They all have been great with CUSTOMERS & FRIENDS like YOU!! Antique Victorian Complex Fretwork Fret Clock in Original Wavy Glass Case NR HUGE - 27" x 12" WORKS GREAT SO ORNATE Chimes Hour & Half At the beginning of December we went to a HUGE university/private collection/museum deaccession sale. (That is where museums, universities and private collectors quietly dispose of items that they have had in their archives to make room for more or to raise money.) Well over the next few weeks we are going to list the items from that sale. Some items we were able to note who they came from, most are from anonymous sources, they don't like folks knowing when they are having items leave their collection. We will post this paragraph with the items that come from that sale. Check out all the amazing items. Up in this auction is a fantastic piece of folk art, an extensively carved fretwork clock, Victorian era, in a wavy (sheet) glass case. We wound up the clock and it worked great, chiming the number of the hour and chiming the half hour. This is so ornate, in the case it is 26 3/4" tall and 13 1/4" wide. The only thing we saw to note is the glass on the front has a crack in the upper left corner. It looks like the wood on the case is oak, there looks to be several different woods used on the clock structure. It looks to be a cathedral and honestly photos are the best way to describe this. We found this history on mindspring com. Fretwork has been around for a very long time. Some records indicate that fretwork was utilized in Europe several hundred years ago. Most people associate fretwork with the Victorian gingerbread architectural features that were very popular around the late 1800's and early 1900's. This was only one application for this craft. The change in how fretwork was done in the very early days, compared to today, are the tools that are used. Fretwork began with hand-held saws that were much like today's coping saws. Later came the foot powered scroll saw. Naturally we would prefer pick up on this, but we will box and ship it to you. Estimated shipping weight, (packaged) is 24.5 lb in a 35 x 19 x 19 box. The eBay Calculator is not always right - if the shipping looks too high email us and we will give you an accurate quote prior to the auction ending. What a great find! SCROLL DOWN FOR PICTURES! FACTS ABOUT ESTATEAUCTIONSINC (Norb & Marie Novocin) Estate Auctions, Inc.We are a licensed auction house. *** IN OUR 13th YEAR ON E-BAY *** *** OVER 35,000 SALES ON EBAY *** *** ACTIVE WITH SQUARE TRADE (for your protection) *** *** We are Trading Assistants - We can sell items for you! *** MyStoreMaps improve local and international eBay sales. *** OVER 13,875+ POSITIVE FEEDBACKS (11,535+ UNIQUE) *** By EBAY's ratings 100% Positive. (Only 2 Negatives in 12 years, one apologized in his comments, the other left a neg before the Post Office said it would be to them while their package was enroute. YES, it was shipped in a timely manner!) Back when we last could count repeat buyers, (the changed feedback does not allow that anymore.) we had OVER 4,103 REPEAT CUSTOMERS!!! (They must know something.) (Maybe they have fun here.) SO YOU CAN BID WITH CONFIDENCE!! Please note: We put up a very ecclectic collection of items and are not experts in every area, so descriptions are our best guess as to what something is. While we try to research each item to the best of our ability, it is the buyer's responsibility to know what they are buying. TERMS OF SERVICE EBAY is ALL we do for a living, husband and wife (Norb & Marie) working together, while we home school our kids on our farmette in Rural Delmarva. We have worked very hard to build our little business and it is very important to us. We try and do business the old fashioned way and have a rather simple outlook. Treat all of your customers as if they are family. Be courteous, answer emails, be fair in all your deallings and try and make friends of each and every customer. BUT... with eBay's new star rating and the rate increases in the U.S. Postal rates we needed to define and explain our methods of business. ONE - Who We Deal With We sell and ship world wide to anywhere, so please email us for a quote to wherever you happen to be. TWO - Shipping Charges We charge shipping based on the USPS system, we will sometimes ship via courier if we can get it to you within the same time frame or faster. We add a reasonable cost for materials, normally that is $2.00 for regular sized packages. For small flat items $1.00. That covers the expense of boxes, envelopes, bubble wrap, peanuts, (We only use new packing materials, life is too short to scrounge through dumpsters). For larger items that take a larger more expensive box, we charge a little more, to cover the special box, example paintings or lamps. For oversized items or items that will take special attention to package, (Build a crate, wrap a zillion things individually, etc.), we ask you to email us for a quote on shipping prior to the auction ending. If you do not, we charge the same amount as if you did. In other words WE NEVER GOUGE SHIPPING COSTS!! TWO POINT ONE - International Shipping We charge shipping based on the USPS international system. The rates follow the same guidelines as number two above, though for international customers we add an additional $1.00 to cover the extra paperwork involved in international shipping. If an amount goes over $50 in value we will only ship it with Priority or Express Mail, regardless how small an item. That allows for us to have international tracking. There is no tracking available on First Class Mail. TWO POINT TWO - Insurance eBay's policies no longer allows us to charge the client for insurance. But... we still apply insurance to any item that goes over $27.00 in value. We reserve the right to use the insurance carrier of our choice. Sometimes that is Postal or the Carrier's Insurance and sometimes that is a private insurance company such as DSI or U-PIC/Shipsurance. If we use a private insurance company the package will not be marked insured, but it will be. THREE - Methods of Payment Accepted We abide by eBay's rules and try and stay abreast of their changes. We accept Paypal. Paypal also accepts the major credit cards, or we also take Credit Cards Directly over the phone, (MC, VISA, DISCOVER, AMERICAN EXPRESS, CARTE BLANCHE, DINERS CLUB, JCB) Bottom line, whatever method is most convenient for you. FOUR - Time Frame To Pay We ask all auctions to be paid for in the fastest possible time frame. (This is all we do for a living and we need the money to pay the bills and buy more unique and fun items to put up on eBay) FIVE - Shipping Time Frame We make every effort to ship in a timely manner. We are home schooling the boys, listing tons of items, and as like any of us are just plain swamped, so we have to schedule a special time to pack and ship. We ship on a first paid, first shipped basis. (We do not ship any item until it has been paid and the funds have cleared.) With the ebb and flow of payments we manage to get everything out of the door within one week. If there is a rush, we will make every effort to work with you in getting it out of the door faster. As you can see from our feedback, we do not disappoint. OF COURSE, items that need special attention, crating, etc adds to the time frame of those items. SIX - Communication Please feel free to contact us at anytime, with any question or comment. Unless we are out of town we make an effort to answer all emails as quickly as possible. We PREFER PAYPAL!! We accept MC, Visa, and Discover via phone or dual e-mail or via PAYPAL!! TO PAY WITH AMEX (American Express) PLEASE GO TO PAYPAL, THEY WILL TAKE IT FOR US! YES, BUYER PAYS SHIPPING DESPITE WHAT EBAY'S PAGE SAYS BENEATH THIS DESCRIPTION. We estimate shipping weight & packaging materials and e-mail winning bidder shipping costs at auction end. We package well, as our feedback attests. We use NEW boxes and shipping materials, bubbles, peanuts & envelopes. To get an estimate to your zipcode, e-mail us for a quote BEFORE the auction is over. Because you have taken enough interest to read all the way down this far, we know you to be the type of customer we want to acknowledge. We continue to have so much fun on ebay mainly because of friends like you. So. . . THANK YOU!! yqz Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool.
