This is a REALLY LARGE NICE OLD ANTIQUE GWTW OIL TABLE LAMP. IT IS SIMPLY THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. THE PIECE MEASURES 29 1/2'' HIGH TO THE TOP OF THE BALL SHADE AND 31 1/2'' TO THE TOP OF THE CHIMNEY. SIMPLY AN ENORMOUS EXAMPLE FIT FOR THE FINEST CENTER TABLE. THE SHADE AND BASE ARE A GUARANTEED MATCH AND ARE LATE 1800s. THE COLOR IS A BEAUTIFUL PINK WITH THE RUFFLES AND IT IS STUNNING LIT IN THE EVENING. THE GLASS IS VERY HEAVY AND IS LINED WITH A WHITE GLASS ON THE INSIDE WHICH GIVES IT SUCH A WONDERFUL GLOW WHEN LIT. THE GLASS BLOWER THAT MADE THE SHADE AND BASE FOR THIS LAMP WAS AN ARTIST. THE FONT HAS NOT BEEN DRILLED AND WILL HOLD OIL, BUT A SOCKET HAS BEEN PUT IN AT SOME POINT IN THE PAST AND THE CORD LOOKS SOUND AND WORKS WELL. IT LOOKS LIKE A NICE JOB OF WIRING IT. IF YOU WANTED TO BURN OIL YOU COULD PUT A BURNER ON IT AND DO SO, AS THE TANK WILL HOLD OIL. THE CHIMNEY IS EVEN OLD AND LOOKS ORIGINAL TO THE PIECE. THE FOOT IS BEAUTIFUL AND HAS A NICE PATINA. IT DOES SHOW SIGNS OF WEAR AND AGE. GLASS IS ALL IN EXCELLENT SHAPE WITH NO CRACKS OR REPAIRS. THEY DO NOT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS, SO DO NOT LET THIS PIECE GET AWAY. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL PIECE TO DISPLAY OR USE IN A VICTORIAN PARLOR. EARLY OIL LAMPS LIKE THIS IS GETTING HARD TO FIND IN NICE CONDITION. An excellent INVESTMENT QUALITY addition to any collection.
