Antique Victorian Mourning Hair Work Coil Bracelet Picture(s) and Description:

Recent Purchase! This lost art was popular around the 1840's. The most sought-after makers of these pieces were Forrer in London and Lemonier and Charleaux in Paris. Hairwork was also a hobby for Victorian Women. Lovely coiled flexible Victorian Bracelet The top of the end caps are 14-karat solid yellow gold. The caps are engraved, there may have been pearls or other gems in the indented holes. The back is silver, or a low karat metal. I discreetly tested the end caps and they tested for 14-karat gold. I am not completely sure what the metal on the back is. It has a slightly yellow white color. The bracelet measures 9" in length, from end to end. The inside diameter is 2". I am not sure the material used under the woven hair. It is flexible, ans has no breaks, moves freely. The end caps are hollow, and filled with cement or some other material for durability. A Rare Find! Woven and braided section all intact. Pictures show condition accurately. The weight is 10 grams. Truely a work of art! Insurance included on this item. Items will be shipped and packed with care. Paypal Only! International Bidders need approval before bidding! You can be assured your items will be listed to the best of our ability, shipped with care and all questions and concerns will be answered promptly. We thank you for looking and good luck!
