Antique Clock Wow! This auction is for one of many great antique clocks I have listed this week from the same local estate. This particular clock is a really nice Victorian mantel clock and it has a wood case with a thick black paint. It has some fancy spoon carving on the front and someone repainted a few areas. Has a nice set of pillars on either side and ornate metal feet. The dial of the clock says it was made by Sessions and it's a really large model. The clock is in good condition some obvious wear from the years of use, but it's missing the glass over the dial and looks to have a replacement back cover. Measures about 19" wide. It includes the pendulum and key but will not start. It does wind and the gong at the top and bottom of the hour do work. Nice piece! I love Victorian pieces and have enjoyed this one for many years. It is time for me to sell the many pieces that I have collected and inherited, and I will be listing many wonderful items in the coming weeks. The Adelphi frame is marked 1791 quadruple plate and is approx. 11 1/4" by 5". It is figural with leaves and flowers. It is missing one of the 12 nut, spoon or fork holders (whatever you wish to use it for). The stand is tarnished, I leave the polishing to you to do if desired. I gave up that years ago. The insert is cranberry thumbprint or coin dot. It is approx 4 5/8" by 2 3/4". It has a small rim chip and a little roughness on the rim. This piece displays beautifully, my hope is that you enjoy it as I have.

Victorian Era Shell Art Picture Frame with litho scene This auction is for an antique Victorian Era love token seashell picture frame. It has the original metal ring for hanging. This frame has a glass front with a litho scene of a sailing ship at sea. All the shells seem to be there. It has red and green seeds that are very common for these older Victorian shell art pieces. Wow what a piece this would be for your collection. Overall It is in Very Good condition. In the late nineteenth century no beau would dare to visit his sweetheart without taking some token of his true feelings, a bunch of flowers,candy,an item of jewelry or a book of poems. From a wide range of shell decorated items that have survived and the message of Love and Affection that they often bare, it appears that boxes and trinkets,decorated in shells were also popular gifts for loved ones. Some people would call this an old sailors valentine. Sailors would pick these shell items up to give them to there sweethearts when they got home.It was also the custom of the day when visiting the seashore to collect shells as mementos of the trip and friends met along the way. Paper shops would sell paper boxes / picture frames in decorative designs for the purpose of covering them with the gathered shells. It is a custom simular to making a memory jar, vase etc. Women at that time were also very adept at making their own gifts and love tokens to friends from inexpensive material as they often times had very little access to ready cash. Their husbands holding the purse strings as it were. Measures 7" inches tall x 4 3/4 " in width . What a great find! Check out my other items! Here is a rare pair of cloth cats from the late 1800"s. These are in mint condition, never been torn or repaired. These were found inside this old purse. The purse has no name, but does have a crown symbol on the latch. Looks very old, has a leather handle and brass latches. It looks in super shape, also. The cats have two patent dates, looks like July, 98 and Oct., 99. You get both cats and the purse for one price. Figure they should go together, maybe some youngster born in the late 1800's got them for a present and carried them in the purse. In any case, I saw one of these cats on eBay, #290464381372, and it sold for over $45.00 with postage, and it was sown and torn. These are mint. I'll pay P&H to the lower 48 states. Made by the Parker Company this lamp had to be top of the line. It is constructed from solid brass and is plated with nickel. The font and the base are made from yellow Art Pottery and at the center is a small 7 ½ diameter Marble Table. As you look at all my close-up photographs you will see that this circa 1880s lamp is in wonderful condition. The only damage is a tight split on the center brass collar. In the down position this lamp is 60 inches tall to the top of the finial and will adjust up another 12, with only a squeeze of a lever just below the font. Sometime in the very early 20th century this oil lamp was professionally converted to electricity. In the last photographs you can see the original fringe shade that was used on this lamp, after it was converted probably about 1910. The frame and fringe on the shade are in very good condition but the cloth is long gone. I do not have to ship this shade, if the high bidder does not want it. Victorian Made in Germany Sterling Silver Sewing Kit in Original Box. Set is in a Green Cardboard box lined w/ White Cloth. There is a pair of Scissors, a Thimble, a Seam Ripper and a Needle Keep. All 4 pieces are marked Sterling. The Scissors are also marked Germany. Scissors are 3.5" long and are heavily embossed on handles w/ vines of Leaves and Sunflowers. The Needle Keep w/Long Red Strawberry filled w/most probably sawdust has a large Sterling Sunflower for the top and is 2" long, The Seam Ripper is 4" long and is heavily embossed with vines of leaves and 2 large Sunflowers in Center. There are red wooden knobs on each pointed end. The Thimble has a "G" on the inside and is a size 8. It is dented in slightly on one side and there are a couple "holes" in the thimble. It is marked sterling w/an anchor beside that. The Case definetely shows its age and the pieces could use a good cleaning. There is no Lid for the box. Shipping will be $5 Priority Mail.
