VICTORIAN BIRD FIGURAL SILVER PLATE CENTERPIECE BOWL NR ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS FIGURAL BIRD BASKET BOWL STAND ! Up for auction with NO RESERVE is an absolutely fabulous Victorian Figural Silver Plate centerpiece bowl. The stand or bowl holder is one of the best I have ever sold with the best three figural birds holding up a large ring, which in turn holds the glass bowl. Obviously the bowl is not original to the stand, but I was told it has been in longer than anyone could remember and it looks great. The glass bowl is actually a very high quality cut satin glass example and probably worth a tidy sum on it's own. The bowl stand is unmarked but almost certainly by one of the fine American companies of the Victorian period such as Merriden B. Co., Wallingford etc. The Silver Plate stand measures approx 4-1/4" tall by slightly over 9" across and would hold a bowl up to 7-3/8" across, the lower ring has an opening of 2-3/4". The glass bowl measures 8-3/4" across the top by 2-5/8" tall. The Silver Plate stand is in excellent condition NO BREAKS, CRACKS OR REPAIRS with a nice warm patina you can only find on antique Silver and the glass bowl only shows one small rim chip.
